| Ray in Translation (Other than in English) |
|
That the literary works of Satyajit Ray have been translated not only in major Indian languages and English but in many other Asian and European languages as well bears eloquent testimony to his global popularity as a writer of fiction. Little did he imagine in the initial years of his filmmaking career that he would become an author of mainly children's stories which were to be avidly lapped up by the young and the old alike the world over. His other writings like those on cinema too have been translated. The following is a select list of his books translated in various Asian and European languages. --- AKD
